*Update* Now live on the site : http://www.soldersplash.co.uk/products/dipcortex/

Not yet on the website, we received prototype PCBs today of a new product, we're not quite sure what to name it just yet.

It's an ARM cortex M0 or M3 on a tiny board shaped the same size as a popular 8bit micro with the same sort of peripherals on the same pins. Making it perfect for breadboard use or bringing an old product up to date.

Using the same M0 as the SolderBridge's it will be code compatible and has a super simple USB mass storage boot loader for re-flashing.

Heres a few pics :

Very nice indeed. I'll have to have a couple of those.

How about calling it the "Splash Mini".

Hey Dave up late again,

Thanks for the name idea. my other name idea was Cerebellum (Latin for little brain) related to cortex which is the core of the micro.

Or PicStick, not sure about that one though.

About to tonight, once I get my Daughter to bed.

Have both the M3 and M0 versions built, both power up and program via USB and Jtag which is good and proves the power and ground layers of the PCB ( it's a 4 layer PCB )

Will test each of the pins tonight.

Cross fingers, It looks like these are right first time

It's looking good,

Have it reading all 8 ADC channels and sending that out via uart, pins toggling and have it working as a USB CDC ( USB virtual com port ).

Will this be the finished product Carl?

Also will the header pins be soldered in place or will this be optional?

Yes,

The prototypes seem to work fine. We have a few silkscreen tweaks to do but nothing that stops us selling as they are. Just being perfectionists!

So it is looking like we will be adding a few of these to the shop to test the water this week. Once they sell we can order some more.

Our current thoughts are to have the headers as an option you can select on purchase and we can leave them off or solder them before shipping as that only takes us a few seconds.

Do you have any applications in mind, I could look making one a demo if it is simple.

Ohh we have a name, DipCortex

Carl.
