Why won't my desktop see it?

Well progress at least! This means the Router isn't to blame and it will be something on the PC blocking UDP broadcasts.

I'll add a way to specify a SplashBases IP address. Hopefully this will get you going on your PC if you can't find the issue

Thanks Carl.

I'll have a play around to see if I can get my PC to play. If not at least I can use the SplashBase with my netbook for now.

I have found the problem.

Earlier I disabled my firewall (Zone Alarm) from inside the program itself. I now find by shuting the program down completely that the PC can now see the SplashBase.

I have played around with the settings of Zone Alarm but can not find a way to have this running and have the PC see the SplashBase.

Ahh ZoneAlarm that would do it.

I just downloaded it and had a look through the options, I can repeat your problem, even after giving the SplashBase App full permission ZoneAlarm still blocks it.

It seems to be just the broadcasts it has an issue with. Close it, click find, SplashBase appears, double click and control relays. Start Zonealarm, controlling relays still works, clicking the find button clears the list as zonealarm has blocked it.

So for now I think all you can do Is disable zonealarm while using it.

At least we know the problem Carl.

Time to open a bottle of wine.

Thanks for helping.
